AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as an attacking player. She also serves as captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division in professional soccer for women. From 2018 until 2020, she was co-captained the US women's national soccer team alongside Megan Rapinoe. [8][99 Morgan was chosen by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there and was instrumental in the team's winning the league championship. Morgan was only 22 at the time, and was the youngest player on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final against Canada. She was second in the U.S. in having 20 assists and 28 goals in 2012, which makes her the sixth and youngest prolific player in the nation to score 20 goals in a single year. She was then awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments, while she won the Silver Boot in 2019.
