
Teri Hatcher was born Teri Lynn Hatcher on the 8th of December 1964, in Palo Alto California. Her mother, Esther, was a computer programmer at Lockheed Martin, and her father, Owen, was an nuclear physicist and electrical engineer. Teri was a ballet student at the San Juan School of Dance and was raised in Sunnyvale, California. She attended Fremont High School, where she was leader of the Featherettes dance team and was named "Most likely to be a Solid Gold Dancer." After graduation, Hatcher studied engineering and mathematics at De Anza College and took acting classes at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater. Teri admitted that her uncle Richard Hayes Stone had sexually harassed her at the age of 5. She also assisted Santa Clara County prosecutors in their investigation into Stone after Stone's 14-year-old victim committed suicide. Stone was sentenced in prison for four counts, pleading in guilty pleas to molestation. In prison, Stone died of colon cancer.
