Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero, an American singer and actress is a former model. Her name was associated with her as the co-star in Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain, and the singer for the girl band Apollonia 6 Apollonia, a singer/actress who was christened by Prince in 1984 became one of the many female artists of the 1980s who benefitted from Prince. She was born Patricia Kotero in Santa Monica California in 1959 her career began as a model actress in the late '70s and included an appearance on the television show CHiPS. As the female protagonist of Prince's Purple Rain was her first role in the year 1984. Prince changed the girl's name at this point. She was replaced by Vanity with the female duo Vanity 6 for her role in the movie with Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. Sex Shooter from the soundtrack had a small success for the trio, but as Prince's Duet Partner on Take Me with You she was more successful. Kotero as well as Prince were at odds about her future professional career. Apollonia6 broke up and Kotero did not continue her relationship with Prince. Following her appearance in minor movies (and as of the reports, refusing to take part on The Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon), she was cast in the 1985-1986 nighttime drama Falcon Crest. Apollonia's debut album came out in 1988. However, the R&B/dance songs were not a huge hit by those who bought music. They soon ceased to exist. Apollonia continued to act (if somewhat under the radar) throughout the following decade. The small roles on TV, minor films, and exercise videos kept her active. In 1997 Apollonia made a record in English and Spanish named Stay with Me. She later returned to school received a degree in filmmaking which led to her forming a production company, often working on the field of children's TV. Apollonia is an incredibly talented woman. She has worked as model, actress and talent manager. In 1984, she received a nomination with her role as a singer in Purple Rain. In addition to Purple Rain, she has appeared in other TV films, including Black Magic Woman or The Divorce Ceremony. Kotero debuted her career as a model. She participated in numerous events and contests. Kotero is the winner of Miss San Pedro Beauty Pageant. The early 1980s saw her begin her acting career. Apollonia Kotero has worked as an American model, actor and manager of talent.
